My 50mm f/1.4 arrived this afternoon from B&H.

This pic is from my evening walk. Not the best in the world, but I thought it looked kinda neat.

Sweet image and a sweet new lens! That might be my next new lens.

I've recently bought that lens too, and it's awesome, especially in low light and small Depth of Field situations (and I'm "only" on a 50D compared to the OP's 5DII !!)

.... I love it!!

I like it - find the softness in the bushes in the right foreground slightly distracting though - particularly the sapling. I guess you were struggling with this being handheld but I'd have tried to keep the aperture closed down a bit more. Also, looks like there is a white house of some kind hiding there that a slightly different angle could capture. Has it had some kind of HDR affect applied to it?

Thanks guys. Yeah, there is a white house there. I tried to angle the shot to avoid as many of the homes as possible. I might clone stamp that out. It's not HDR, but there is a Lightroom preset that I downloaded applied that gives it a HDR sorta feel.
