Snowy Egret

I finally got chance to photograph a Snowy while in the SF Bay area last weekend. Tricky business exposing all that white, and I don't think I got completely right, but I managed to get some detail. Thanks for looking.

Ken these are well done considering the hash looking light conditions. Early morning and late afternoon/early evening light can often be softer.

Some excellent poses he gave you... and I think the whites turned out beautifully. That second pose and image is my favorite of the set.

Thanks Stephen. These were taken around 4:30. A little later would have been better, but I was on a walk with my wife and MIL, so timing wasn't within my control.

Thanks db. I was surprised how well the second tuned out since it was a heavy crop. That lens is very sharp when I get the focus right.

Ken, you could not have picked a tougher subject to expose for in mid-day harsh light. Especially if back lit. You did well, all things considered.

These are nice, Ken, and mostly well-exposed. We can't always choose the best time of day, especially when traveling.
