Had decided to take the plunge and get myself a G11. But now that I think about it, should I wait for the next model? Based on the timing of the G-model camera launches, they may be announcing a new model in a few months.

Your thoughts?

We will probably hear something if it's gonna happen by November.

I just ordered my G11... in fact the battery is charging right now, as I received it just a bit ago. I dont think there's any point in waiting a few months for the new release if you want/need a great p&s now.

Hahaha! That's my quandary. I don't "need" it. Just want it to replace my Olympus 1030 sw. I have my reliable 30D for shooting. I want the G for a handy camera and for underwater shots when we go diving. So I'm not sure if I should just wait a little longer or go ahead and take the plunge now.
