So I faced my fears and sat in a window seat... this is a big thing
for me as I'm deathly afraid of heights and terrified of flying.
Yet the funny thing is I volunteered for a work project that has had
me flying biweekly since April. No idea when it'll stop.

Yes... I think I lost my mind

At any rate- it was very hazy weather but I got a few pictures.
C&C welcome so I can improve in case I decide to sit on the window
again on Monday when I fly out of Daytona Beach.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that does this. I don't fly often but when I do I try to get the window so I can shoot pictures. I don't really see anything wrong with these pictures. #3 & #4 look nice with the blue skies. For the others, when it's hazy you just have to work with what you got and sometimes you just can't do anything if the windows are scratched badly.

A few tips I can give you for the future. If you have a choice of seating try thinking about what you might see out of each side of the plane. For example, once when leaving Vegas at night I got some shots of all the bright lights of the casinos instead of empty desert. Second, don't bother trying to use a polarized filter. The windows have a film on them that causes weird rainbows when polarized. Also, try blocking out as much light from inside the cabin to prevent reflections on the window. I can see a few reflections in these shots. I usually use one of the free magazines in the seat pocket for shielding the window.

Have fun flying. Staring out the windows looking for photo ops might be just what you need to get over your fear. :)

Usually my boss picks the seats for me and all but 2 flights I've been on, so
far, the flight attendants are constantly walking up and down and saying
"Remember- please sit in your assigned seat only!"

That is a good idea on the magazines... I'll have to give it a whirl in 2 weeks.
I did not manage to get any pictures yesterday as I was shaken up pretty badly.
We took off into T-storms from Daytona Beach and it caused a massive panic
attack for pretty much the entire flight (not one single moment of peaceful, steady flying).
I did not even bother to have my camera at the ready when I left Atlanta.

But there is always Friday after this to give it a whirl again :)

I like the second last one. Nice detail in the wing and cool cloud patterns. Looks like the kind of photo that would be good at bringing back memories.
