I'm looking at taking the plunge on the 16-35 II. It's surprising that this very wide L lens does not come with a hood. For those of you who have worked with this lens, did you:

- find a hood necessary from a glare/flare/contrast perspective?

- find a hood necessary from a keeping fingers and other things off the glass?

Thanks.

I don't know where you got your information, but the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens is supplied with the EW-88 lens hood.

You're right, I see it now. Just some temporary brain damage, please pay no attention! Thanks.
