@ Everybody, thanks for the comments.. i love making funny photos now.. so rewarding to me.. this photo is now my desktop default at work now.. it just trumped my wifes photos.. i am sure she is jelous..

Lighting on the models is great as usual, the only two things I don't like about it are that I can see the rear tire isn't really on the ground, it is pretty hard to notice, only a fellow bike guff like me would notice (:p) and the motion blur isn't as realistic as I would like it to be. The wheel is just motion blurred right but it should have a radial blur.

BTW, i did use radial blur..if i gave you the 100% crop you will see it... the finished project was some 5400 pixels on the long side.
but at the 1024 pixel on the long side you just dont see it..

this project was a 13 layer project. probably the biggest project to date for my use in photoshop. i am not strong in P.S. yet, but i am training my self to become better and this was a good step forward to my progress..

to me a good photographer should be able to get a good file and know how to process that file ---- i am getting there.. and many miles still to reach before i am happy with myself..

PM cleaned out now.. LOL..

my personal work will be heading this direction now..

push yourself to create a photo that has something unique by means of this:

1. motion or action
2. tell some story in your photos

and how to get it is with planning and support

A. visualize the photo in your head before going to the set
B. bring friends to help you achieve your goals
C. not every thing will work out and use your back up plan

cute shot - but I don't like the blur and the rear tire is taking off. )
why did you shoot it on a parking lot? a street would've been awesome.
good work technically

rear tire is going so fast that it is jumping off the ground.. idk.. dust specks are covering it too much.. i can reduce it but it isn't that big of a deal to me..

why in a parking garage?

shoot started at about 10PM at night.

so that means there isn't a place in town that isn't safe outdoors for the girls to be in the middle of the street and have the 3 lights on the street and here is the big reason... i can't light up buildings surrounding them for a back ground to be properly exposed..

so that means you have to have a tunnel structure to be able to get a background to be lighted up..

so first Safety
then background lighting = parking garage as the set..

actually parking garage was my first thought because i like the leading lines

where would you have done something like this? and with only 3 lights? @ F7.1 and getting every thing fully lighted up?

Title of this photo is: OMG ~ Crazy Blonde Bikers...

so i had a chance to do some personal work recently, (last night)

senior photos have been on a crazy frenzy and personal work has been set aside.. and i really wanted to take a break from senior stuff.. and make some Art..

i had a chance to work with some very talented people. (Ryan Hicks, Mindy, and Courtney) with out their help i could never be able to pull this shot off. Ryan was the one who threw the scarf in the air, and believe it or not.. we only took one shot to do the scarf and Models gave me this look - so perfect.. (though the test shots for lighting and composition took about 12 shots to do.. )

By the Way, the Bike is Mine, it is 250 CC Motor bike that goes 80MPH and gets about 65Miles to the Gallon.. so fun to ride..

also it was Mindy, the Pink Scarfed Model that made and adjustment for her right hand to hold on to Courtney's Shoulder and make it look like a rodeo hold.. and to have Courtney's beauty add to this shot.. thank you all ! and of course Ryan to hang out and assist me on this shoot ! (i even borrowed one of his lights (AB1600)

don't know where i came up with this concept, but my main goals are listed:

1. Make a Funny Photo
2. Use normal locations - My Fav a parking garage..
3. Create a photo with action or Motion...

my original crop didn't work in my mind so i had to go out wider.. i thought i could do a tighter shot, but as it turns out the best looking shot was low to the ground up, full body and space infront of the bike and behind the bike to show where the action came from..

lighting on this was 3 alien bee's..

1. Key was AB1600 @ 3/4 power with 64PLM Camera right
2. Back side lighting AB1600 @ full power with 86PLM Camera right far back to light up the side of the bike from the rear
3. side kicker camera Left AB1600 @ 1/2 power with 43 inch shoot thru umbrella

Cool, thanks for the video!

Is Phamster triggering the ABs optically? It looks like he's got a 550 facing upwards but there's something sticking on top of that flash as well that I can't figure out.

that was my reaction, too. Otherwise, that's quite the fun picture :)

Pham, you continue to amaze and inspire! Very well executed shot. I can see some good planning went into this image. I want to be able to get to the level of doing these kinds of shots, but I am still just learning to stand, so to speak.

I hope you get more time for personal shots; I don't know if these, or your senior portraits, are your strong point, because they're both so awesome!

I love the idea and the panning. Although I love the model's expression whos sitting behind the first girl, the first girl has a blank look that does not match the setting or location or situation or other model
