These are from the last few weeks, all in all I'm satisfied with the rolling shots, however panning is another story, (lots of throwaways)

the panning shots i was using Tv mode with shutter around 1/50 same with rolling shots.

1/50 is pretty hard to pan at, especially for someone new. They look pretty good for that slow though.

Try at a higher shutter speed and work your way down. I find it helpful to try and focus only on the focal point you are using and keeping it over a single part of the subject. I find trying to keep the point over a riders helmet or a door number helps me.

Yeah, even for someone who pans a LOT, 1/50 is tough. Start at around 1/250. You'll see some motion blur and have lots more keepers.

The rolling shots look nice - I would try to watch for signs and other clutter in the background and minimize them as much as possible.

Will try to tweak my techniques next time, I think drift nirvana is coming around in a few weeks.

you know I didnt even think about roadside clutter when i was doing those shots bit I have this road in mind for future rolling shots.

one question: do you guys use monopod/tripods when panning?

No. They will just get in your way. First Attempt at Panning

I like your shots. They're very nice! My favorite is the red IS you shot. I would get your sensor cleaned, it looks very dirty! Keep working on the panning, you're getting there!
