Lowepro SlingShot 202 AW With 7D + 70-200mmF4

Is it possible to pack the Canon 7D with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM lens attached in the Lowepro 202AW. I understand this combination will not work with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM lens attached, but the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM lens is smaller and I was hoping it would fit.

Thanks

If the 202 is similar to the 200 I used to have, yes, you can fit a camera and 70-200 f4 attached in it.

Edited: Oops.... Just realized you are talking about the Slingshot. My experience was with the Fastpack 200.

See what vast quantities of wine does to you ;-)a

I have that same setup but the 200 and not the 202, I don't believe the main area's depth has changed. The answer is yes, but barely, with a few caveats.

- The pouch that you zipper up over the camera has a slot to hold CF cards, which I do, doing so makes it just thick enough for it not to fit.
- When you have that pouch empty, you can make it fit, but the fabric and zippers are pretty stretched to their max. Lowepro makes quality gear, and it's covered by a good warranty, and I've never had an issue, but that stress isn't ideal.

Usually I just leave mine on it's own in the bag, not mounted.

I can get my 20D with 100-400 attached in my 200, so assuming that the 202 is the same size, it should fit.

I'm not sure how the 20D stacks up, but my XT fit with the 70-200 a lot better than my 7D does, FWIW.

It will fit in the 200 -- I just tried the exact setup in mine.

Obviously it's a question of opinion and mine's not without a shoehorn...
I have the 200AW and the 70-200 4L mounted on a 50D and although I can fit in the main slot, it bulges on both sides. The flash-card pouch* egaertner mentioned doesn't help things either... :-( In the end all you have is some thin, stretched to the limit material between your expensive gear and the outside world...

*Same story with Kata's 3N1 series... argh ???

Thanks everyone for your feedback. After reading reviews all day I think I am going to stay away from a sling style bag and go with a two strap bag (backpack) I can rotate up front. This old pony has a bad back and I believe the single sling may be too much for long hikes.

Such as? I don't know of any backbacks that can "rotate"... :|

FWIW, the Kata 3N1 series offers you both (sling & backpack) but the 3N1-2x is just as tight of a fit with that body+70-200 as the 200AW is and the 3N1-3x is that heavy when full that the "sling" mode is pretty much useless...

Thank you for your comments on the Kata 3N1. I am considering the Lowepro Flipside 300 now.
