Hi, Just want to check if you experience the same with your 70-2004L IS..
It's at f/4 on 7D. When locking at low light with fast focal length change it fails to focus. For example, after taking a shot at 70mm on a near subject @4 from the minimum distant, I quickly aim the lens to a far subject (20-25 fts) that's in extra low light, and then zoom the lens to 200mm to bring the subject close, then focus and shoot. The lens focus limiter was set at 1.2 to infinit. AF's on. IS's on. The lens didn't even attempt to focus when I half press the shutter button. But I am talking about some truely dark situations here. Like inside a dark house or church with very little light. The camera is at single shot focus mode.
Same thing happen when used 200mm to shoot a near subject (bottle water) say 1.5 meter, then aimed the lens to a far subject (dining chair) 15 feet from me using same focal length.
Do you experience the same or is my copy has some problem? Or I demand too much from this lens?
