I have a Kata R-103 and a Vidpro bag that is a bit bigger. Although the Vidpro is quite flimsy it's OK for walking around with, and I find it convenient for my 5D with any of my lenses attached, with the four lenses 100-400L, 24-105L, 50 f1.8, and Sigma 12-24, with basic accessories such as spare battery/ memory card, lens/sensor cleaner, etc. The Kata carries the same but with more of a struggle and less conveniently. It can also carry a laptop but I have no desire to do this; unfortunately I can't return the space allocated for laptop to the main camera compartment.
However, I'm now getting a second body (7D), and I want a new bag to carry both bodies with lenses attached, plus the stuff above. I'm not currently carrying a flash but I would be interested in adding one if possible. I've been looking at Kata and Lowepro offerings on Amazon, but it's often difficult to tell just what storage is offered. Does anyone have any suggestions of suitable soft backpack-style bags? It needs to be a bag that will meet airline cabin requirements.
I expect generally to have the 100-400L attached to the 7D and the 24-105L attached to the 5D.
Any first-hand experiences and advice would be most helpful.
