So the ad says Manfrotto...I email him asking for the model number and he says Bogen 3000.

Does anyone know what this is...and is it worth 50 bucks used?

Thanks :)

I don't know if it is worth the money but googling gave this and plenty of positive comments about it. Sorry that doesn't help much.

As far as I know same products used to sell in different regions and countries under different names like Manfrotto and Bogen. Libec used to be Heiwa!

Bogen used to offer the 3001 set of legs. It came with heads as other models, like the 3011. I don't know the head or the Bogen variant that is pictured. The 3001 leg set is the predecessor to the current Manfrotto 190 legs. The 3001 and 190 are both 'hiker tripods' held in high regard for those who compromise stability a bit and max height for lighter weight. At $50 it would be a deal, even if you unscrewed the head and threw it away (or sell it, making the legs a steal!)

The tripod looks like a Art 190 Manfrotto ... and I know this because I still have one (got it when I was doing film photography :))

It is very stable ... and has served me well for many years. I probably (when budget allows) replace the head ... but keep the legs!

For $50 ... it's not a bad deal (inho)
