Is anyone else going to run the Air Force half marathon in September, or have any stories of running long distance to share?
(I guess this could be in the activities section, but I'm talking about running, not shooting; kudos for those who can run 13.1+ miles with their camera(s).)
Anyhow, I've ran for many years (I'm 23 and started midway through HS, but never played any sports, let alone track/cc), but never really serious (ironically, I was in AFROTC my freshman year in college, but didn't like the military lifestyle too much, but I dropped out). However, after only running a few weeks this spring I caught up to where I was last December when I stopped running (I live in Ohio, after all). In late April I decided I wanted to train to run the Columbus Marathon in mid-October, as I'd have plenty of time to train for that race (I know a few people who ran it and they loved it). Another guy at work said he's going to run the AF 1/2 with his brother and I decided I'd tag alone as a "practice" road race (the Air Force is four weeks before the Columbus). I'm pumped for it and can't wait to start my cheaper hobby of running really long distances.
