I'm relatively novice to web-design and this has taken me ages to put together.

Do you have any comments on how it could be improved?

Many thanks

I enjoyed your content quite a bit, and like the writing style. A few thoughts:

- This is one of those gallery apps that drives me nuts, with the thumbnails moving all over the place while I try to stab the mouse at the one I want to look at. It's pretty annoying, imo.
- Your "about" page starts off in the third person then switches to first person.
- links... it is "normal" to have links clearly displayed in a different color, underlined, or at least in some way that folks will know they can click on them. Yours look like the rest of your text, making your customers roll their mouse over stuff wondering whether its a link of not
- The courier font for your footer isn't doing much for me. I'd keep the same font as the rest of your text, but just smaller, or maybe a touch darker.
- Making your home page the same as your galleries page... I can see why you did it, and it does make sense for a photography site, but it was a bit confusing as I often like to be able to get back to the home page of a site, and with yours I need to figure out how to do that.
- I ran your home page through the validator (external link), which you want to become friends with at some point. Most of the errors listed are simple fixes due to your mixing and matching html and xhtml on the page. I would recommend using a strict doctype one way or the other, and fixing the errors.

I thought I was the only one.

Peter, I pretty much agree with Dave (no surprise there). I would just add, if your concerned with SEO, you might want to add some of your specialties on your <title> tag. :D

No prob Bryan - good luck with it.

Thanks Mike. This is all good stuff. I hope to have some time next week to sort this lot out! Improving SEO is getting towards the top of the list. I'm still novice with website design so there are probably a few things like this i haven't considered.

OK - change that one. Viewbook is horrendously slow. I've scratched the flash and used iframe instead.
Also, no more guestbook, but that is only because i'm too lazy to reinstall.
Wordpress still remains the best blog of course....

Read my comments from May. ;)

Ditch the counter and remove the 'this site is under construction'.
