I second that one! Suze Randall is a great photographer. :D

I personally have no subscriptions to any magazines. I prefer to look at stuff online instead. It saves me money and it saves trees.

+1 here. It's the kind of shooting I really enjoy, and I am always interested in different aspects of this arena. Having said that, I do pick up many other publications from time to time just to keep up, and to make sure I don't get stove-piped into just one category . . .

I have recently picked up a bunch of my old Outdoor Photographer magazines and have absolutely fallen in love with "Basic Jones" with Dewitt Jones,...great stuff! Not a lot about technique, but some really nice philosophical insight and thought provoking writing!
Also I like JPG Magazine, again not a lot on technique but, at some point you get tired of reading the same articles on hyperfocal distancing and Jpg vs. RAW etc. and the major zines are basically like ads these days.

one more for outdoor photographer, but just for gawking I still pick nat geo. naked tribeswomen aside, they have the most consistantly amazing shots of any of them.

i just subscribed to photography monthly. it's an excellent mag that i tried to catch in the bookstore all the time. recently i found a way to subscribe and have it shipped to the U.S. to me for about $5 an issue so i went ahead and subscribed.

recently i've also seen Popular Photography, the UK version, which also seems to be really good.

i generally like UK mags better than the US ones, which makes me think... does UK have generally more proficient hobby photographers?

You just can't buy photography mags here but there's a great book store but the photography mags on sale are in French..

I duck across into Thailand once a month and they have a great selection but in Thai:confused:

When I fly home I stock up on photography mags,,Australian and British ones.. My wife often wonders why I'm nearly at my check in luggage limit when I fly in really light,, my bag is stocked with photography mags;)

I find it ironic that one doesn't buy photography mags just to look at the pictures! I guess readable text is kind of important!
