I haven't done much people photography, but a drum circle in Venice Beach offered some great opportunities.

Thank you both -- yes, these were candids shot while attending a drum circle on Venice Beach. The clown was on the boardwalk. It was a great opportunity for candids since no one opposed being photographed and there were so many interesting people there!

Very good street candid portraits.

I downloaded a few and see how they would look in B+W, some are powerfull in B+W.

Great job.

Thanks! I hadn't thought of converting them -- I'll have to try it and see how they look.

This took place in a drum circle - probably about 75-100 people -- everyone was either performing or was into the music, they didn't realize they were being photographed, like this guy.

Clowns should be outlawed. Otherwise, great shots. Interesting place.

Thank you. bw!

Thank you, Doctorh -- I used the Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical IF Macro Zoom Lens .. its my new walkabout lens, stays on my XSi most of the time now.

Thank you, MikeFairbanks .. good point about clowns -- the Venice Beach boardwalk is full of interesting characters, but it was more fun at the drum circle!
