This is my first attempt. Let me tell you these things are hard to shoot. I took about 50 frames to get one not so decent shot. I was happy just to be able to tell it was a Bat after PP.

well done! i have bats that fly near my house every night. i must have taken about 1000 photos of them but never had a single one in frame and in focus. that is very hard to do :)

Where was this taken? That is a western/eastern red bat. They are very cool animals. They are a tree roosting species and are not well known/documented.

I captured this shot in my front yard (Mississippi). It was more of a "lets see if I can even get one in frame" kind of thing. This was the best of all the shots. I do plan to try again with a little different approach.

I tried adding a little contrast to the first one.it brought out a few details...

I'm not sure. It may be the fact that the shot was over exposed. It may be the amount of PP I did (I'm not that good). Also there wings are almost translucent and the shot had some back lighting from a security light.
