I don't use much channels in Channel palette, so shortcuts assigned to each channel in palette (Command+ ~, 1, 2 and 3) are useless for me. But those shortcuts are handy, so I would like to assign them to different functions. I don't remember I had this problem before (when still on Tiger), but few weeks ago, we finally upgraded all our boxes (including laptops) to Snow Leopard, and now I don't seem to be able to change these shortcuts.
In Keyboard shortcuts I don't find anything about palette shortcuts, and it doesn't allow me to override these shortcuts either.
Does anyone have any idea how could I change this, so I would use Command+1 for something else then Red channel.
PS: It's on Mac (Snow leopard) and with PS CS3.

AFAIK, you can't.

OSX shortcuts will take precedence over PSCS3 shortcuts, so switch off all the crap you don't need in OSX "keyboard and mouse" preferences. (For instance, Cmd+` is "Move focus to next window" (keyboard navigation) by default. That will interfere with PSCS3 Cmd+~ (same key))

Hit Shift+Cmd+Opt+K to set your own keyboard shortcuts in PSCS3. But some shortcuts cannot be set or altered there.

PSCS4 altered these shortcuts (Cmd+2,3,4 now). To get the old shortcuts back, there was a "UseOldShortcuts" plugin. Maybe it's possible to write such a plugin to get this done, but frankly, I wouldn't bother.

Use the Ctrl key: That one is hardly used in PS.
