Looked around at a lot of camera bags but couldn't find one I really liked so I made one myself. Picked up an ACU backpack at the the local surplus store and took some foam cut it to spec and wrapped it in ACU Nylon fabric. I know its bare but is my first DSLR. It has lots of storage and also the molle straps on the front will allow me to attach other bags to the backpack. Any feedback is welcome.

@ Panda_stunter thanks, not to bad for some foam, fabric, and velcro. Its pretty sturdy in there as well with the two velcro straps holding the camera down.

Go for it, The bag was only $30, foam was $4, Fabric was $1.50 a yrd, 3M foam spray was $7 and velcro was $15.00. Plus I didn't use all of the material so I can use it for another project. So not to bad a camera bag for around $50 and you get to set it up exactly how you need it. Let me know if you can not find a bag that cheap anywhere my local surplus store had them in all black and the ACU with shipping from FL maybe cheaper than anywhere else. I looked online at some of these bags and they were not cheap.

update on camera bag, still holding strong, I thought for sure the foam inserter would have come apart by now but nope, it has survived a trip up the eastern sea board to NY to Mississippi and back to FL all intact.

Woww, what a nice looking and unique ACU camera bag.

I wish I could have one in Multicam pattern.

It needs more foam padding inside, next to and around the camera.

Are you guys allowed to carry military type stuff in HK, if so check online for the pattern you want, it was really easy to make.

It has served me well for the past 7 months, there are no marks on my camera from lack of padding. After a 3000+ mile trip around the east coast of the US I was pretty impressed with how it held up. Thanks for looking
