There are different versions for different markets depending on local radio regulations. You can tell which one by the final letter. I have the WFT-E5B. @Simon_Gardner | Since 27 Nov 1987 | Tripod fetishist - moi?

It allows you to radio link in various ways your camera with eg a laptop or a network. It doesn’t increase your battery power whatsoever. The camera still uses its one battery and this WFT device uses one battery of the same type - not linked to the camera proper at all. @Simon_Gardner | Since 27 Nov 1987 | Tripod fetishist - moi?

BUT make sure it is what you think it is. I've seen an eBay 3rd party 7D grip that also has an LCD screen seemingly for nothing, but the functionality of it was more like a battery grip. If you can read this, you don't need a macro | 7D + 5DIII + Waaaay too much spent....

The WFT-E5A wireless file transmitter opens the door to new possibilities in remote and Geotagged shooting applications. Photographers can fire up to 10 cameras simultaneously from across the room or across the country while maintaining control over camera settings and remote live view on a laptop or smart phone. The WFT-E5A wireless transmitter can also transfer and display images on DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatible televisions and photo frames. Geotagging is now possible via Bluetooth, using compatible GPS devices to append coordinate data to the images." (CUSA Press Release) @Simon_Gardner | Since 27 Nov 1987 | Tripod fetishist - moi?
