The noob in me wants to ask: 1) Does it stay dark for 15.5 hours where you are 2) How do you not get star trails in a 15.5 hour exposure? Says they took 'em over 5 clear nights, and you'd need a tracker head to track with the movement of the earth (stars) so you get no trails.

Thanks everyone. I am pretty happy with it as it is my longest exposure to date. With a bit of experimenting with the PP though, I might be able to extract more data. merlin2375 wrote in post #10208592 Uh, WOW! That's super neat. The noob in me wants to ask: 1) Does it stay dark for 15.5 hours where you are 2) How do you not get star trails in a 15.5 hour exposure? I took ten minute exposures for a few hours each night then stacked them all in MaxIM DL Essentials, calibrated then exported the resulting TIFF to Photoshop for some tweaking. It looks like one is coming out soon that will fit my ED120 and correct this. Until then, I have to decide to crop or not to crop. Builds By Baz website http://www.buildsbybaz.com
