I wonder how accurate they would be with the flash compensation though

Cool. Assuming it actually works as planned then it should be great. Considering that I use Elinchrom RX lights, currently use Pocket Wizards and will be buying the new Pocket Wizards once the Nikon versions are released, it's pretty exciting.

I like this news because when I do buy some strobes, the Elinchrom and/or Alien Bees are my top two choices...so this makes it all the much easier to decide on.

Cool. The mini and the flex with 580 EXII's are awesome. Can't wait for that capability with studio lights. Just wonder if (and hope) it works with D-Lite-IT.....

According to the blurb on the Pocket Wizard site it's going to interface with the RX series only. It's basically replacing the Skyport RX, giving the best of both worlds, but only for RX series strobes. That means that it won't work with BXRi, BX, D-Lite IT or D-Lite.

Looks cool but, Radiopopper already does that for alien bees. and Skyports already do that from elinchrom.
minus the auto mode.

" Once your flash settings are dialed in, ControlTL PowerTracking allows you to change shutter speed, f-stop and ISO and the system will automatically adjust power levels to maintain proper exposure."

Skyports do not do that.

Now if RadioPoppers ups their game to do this too I would be very excited.

So you went from Canon to Nikon to Canon and now back to Nikon again????

I'm torn. I wish the AB unit was more like the Elinchrom unit. I like $120 for a dedicated RX much better than $284 for something with extra bells and whistles I might not use. Plus, I wish there was an Einstein version announced (even though it is PCB that changed their interface, not PW.)

I'm a bit torn myself as well. I was going to get an AB 1600, but ended up ordering an Einstein instead (still on backorder queue), mainly because it has broader output range and supposedly has color consistency compared to the AB units. But I anticipate the new PW accessory won't work with Einsteins, and I'll still need to acquire the Cyber Commander unit from PCB to control the Einstein remotely.

that's a pity. It would be really great and make sense to have a elinchrom-unit for all the different series. So you could use them in studio with bxri and with quadra on the road. they would only have to add a little software.
