My first "keeper" Pied-Billed Grebe images (5)

I finally got close enough to a pied-billed grebe to have some images I'm willing to share. Unfortunately these were all taken around noon time under very harsh light.

Canon 40d, Sigma 50-500mm mounted on Induro Carbonflex tripod. Most images with fill flash.

1. Body shake - A big crop but I like the pose.

Thanks Ted. Yes it was my first visit there. I ran into Marc L. at Petri and he was kind enough to show me exactly where. Jim C. was there when we arrived so a good time was had by all.

Thanks Joyane. Actually the mated pair were both there but I didn't mange to get a photo of them together since they seemed to be patrolling and one was usually hidden bu cattails.
