May 19, 2010 12:12 | #1 I would like to know who uses screw in ND filters versus the slide in for the various holders. I am new and looking to get some filters and have been researching the various types,brands, and benefits of each. Obviously my first filter to get is a CPL, then perhaps a ND. I'd like to hear everyone's opinion. I do understand the possible benefits of the slide in filter, but as for money-wise goes, screw in are cheaper as you do not have to buy the adaptor. So, what do you guys/gals all think? Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.

Threading it on/off is a PITA so you end up using liveview with a screw on, at least I do. I have the 77 10-stop and it's OK, but because I use panel GNDs already I eventually want a panel 10-stop as well... My Gear List

Yeah I was referring to ND in particular and not GND which work best by slide in (or hand held) . I realize slide in IS easier, but if I could get away with a screw in ND rather then having to buy a holder,adaptor, and filter would save me some moolah especially since I plan on getting a good CPL. Does anyone use a screw in ND? Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.

I bought a screw in ND8 before... now that I bought a slide GND, its evident that its easier to have a slide in ND8 also... and a 10stop ND.
