can get a KILLER deal on a 1D mkII

Just wondering if it is really worth the hassle of selling my XS right now to grab it. I know the pixels are TONS larger which helps, and you get all the pro controls and 14 bit processing.

Also can someone throw me out a estimate on what a XS w/ hooded kit lens + all ass. in 9/10 condition would go used?

1DmkII isn't 14 bit. It's just 12 bit. 1DmkIII is 14 bit. How much is the 1DmkII going for?

I sold my 40D for a 1D Mk II and would do it again in a heartbeat. I sold my 1D II for a 1D IIn and would do it again in a hearbeat.

My answer to your questions is YES!

If you have lenses for it and don't mind an always-gripped body, then go for it!

I sold my XS a month ago and netted $375 selling lens and body seperate. Lens went for $90 shipped and body for $320 shipped, but after selling fees, it was about 375.

Also, XS is not 14 bit either, so no loss there. Honestly I have never seen an example where 14 bit made the difference other than theoretical tests.

$550 1D II is a steal

Do use 1Dcount to get the shutter counts, though. The more "pro" a body is, the more shutter counts it's more likely to have.

It's definitely worth it.

btw, a LNIB XS + kit lens worht $350ish, as pointed out already. Just confirming that.

At $550, you might as well. The IQ, AF, and build quality will be huge steps better.

The MKII at the very least, will retain value better and be a better bargaining chip later.

That besides it blowing the other body away to boot.

I sold my XS w/ kit lens in like new condition for $350. I think selling the XS for a 1DmkII would be a really good deal. The IQ of the 1DmkII is going to be a lot better than your XS.

Not sure what examples you are looking at but I instantly recognized the difference between a 40D and my XS (same lens, light, settings)

Selling the XS for the 1DMKII is worth the upgrade. I sold my 30D for a 1DMKII and never regret it on bit. The autofocus will surprise you every time.

For 550 that is a deal that you can't give up.
