Found this at a local spot. Not sure if it works, but got it for a great price and thought it would be cool to have.

Any info on this?

I don't know much about that particular model but the Canonet series were all good small rangefinder camreas. I have a Canonet 28 that I bought back in the late 70s or early 80s and they were great little cameras. Mine was lost in a cabinet for many years and I just recently got it out to inspect it. It is still in good shape except the foam sealer has deteriorated around the film door.

I still wish Canon would take the Canonet body and install either an APS-C or FF sensor along with a really good fast lens. I think they could sell a lot of them.

Awesome!

Is that the light meter ringed into the lens? If so, that's an interesting idea. Instead of ring flash it's ring meter. :)

What do you need to know? It's a rangefinder camera with a Selenium external light meter (the stuff you see at the front of your lens). Which means no batteries needed. Non-interchangeable lenses, but you have full manual controls, which is pretty rare for a Canonet.

They made Canonets from the '60s to the late 70s yours, I believe, is the original one (they made something like 15 models of Canonets).

Here's my 1971 Canonet 28 with a period-correct Canolite D flash. (Mine has an internal battery operated light meter, but no full manual mode. I can choose the aperture, and the camera has pre-programmed corresponding shutter speeds. Pretty basic stuff haha).

Depends on whether it works or not. Canonets were the Canon A-series of the 60s and 70s. Basic, beginner cameras Canon sold millions of. They're not highly collectible or extremely rare.

Please don't start profiteering from these lol...drives up the price for the rest of us who truly appreciate and collect these old cameras and want to preserve them.

If you don't want it, sell it to an enthusiast for a bargain. (I got mine from an art school that was throwing them away. I could have easily turned a profit on it...instead, I cleaned it up, going to fix the dent on the filter ring and it's one of my favourite personal museum pieces).
