Has anyone else had any issues with yongnuo battery packs? I accidentally noticed some image noise/banding on 5/15/10 that I have since been able to reproduce with the battery packs attached to my 580EX, but the noise goes away when I detach the battery pack. The noise is in the shadows and is almost invisible in normally exposed areas.

All photos were taken with Canon 5D classic.

I know the battery packs are responsible, but I don't know two other things: Does the same thing occur with Canon brand packs, and does it occur with other cameras?

Update - the issue seems to be occurring when the battery pack and flash are both in close proximity to the camera. I have not been successful in coaxing out the issue when the battery pack OR flash are near the camera by themselves.

Can anyone make sense of this?

IIRC, there is an interference issue with those and the 5D. I see it in mine as well.

I feel stupid now: Canon's battery packs have a disclaimer saying that such noise will occur if the battery pack is within 2 inches of the camera body - this means the same thing is occurring with the Yongnuo pack.

Lesson learned.

Didn't notice as my pack is usually more than 6" away from the camera.
