Hi, everyone

Looks like a great site! I'll start with these two recent images to show the type of bird photography I'm into. I do a lot of birds-in-flight shots and I also like warblers. I started birding about three years ago but I've been shooting for a long time.

For me, I don't like AE nor AF so about 99% of what you'll see from me here will be ME and MF. Hope to learn more from you all!

Hello right back at you and welcome. Was the swallow right after a dunk MF? Great shot.

Hi Hideta ... A nice start, AF is highly recommended for anything constantly moving though.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

Val & Mitch - yes, MF. A dunking swallow is tough to maintain focus because they slow down so fast after the dunk. Easier to track one skimming the surface for a drink

Brad - thanks. I look forward to sharing and seeing all the other fantastic images here.

Marco - I did try AF a while back but missed some key shots so I never went back to it. Whether it's birds or bugs in flight, we don't have too many large subjects in my area so getting an AF-lock has been frustrating. But I have heard great things about the 7D so I may have to get one and try it out again.

Dave - LOL. We do get a good variety of warblers through central Ohio. But nowhere near as bold as those in Magee so I hope to make it up there soon!
