24-70mm first pics, flower and spider

The 24-70L is an amazing lens and it's perfect for taking pictures of flowers. It is considered a macro, just barely, but that's what makes it great for shooting flowers. That and it's so stinking sharp!

Nice image, but I would have shot it a bit more stopped down to get more of that daisy in focus. Cool image though.

Also, get some Extention Tubes for that 24-70 and then its really a great flower/bug/macro lens!

yeah, I always do that "ooo look I have a f2.8" and get stuck using it lol. I need to work on that.

well, regardless of lack of response, I was really happy with how much better it came out. haha. Hooray for learning about controlling DOF.

I think in this last one you have too much space.a tighter crop on the daisy would benefit the shot, just me.Just to the side of the little yellow bud.

Chaz, What extension tube would you suggest with the 24-70? I know everyone suggests the Kenko but I would probably rather just get one of Canons. Not sure I need 3 tubes. I just got this lens too and I love it.

you are probably right, i was worrying about the flower itself, haha. I will play with it tonight in LR.
