I sent my beloved Canon ID Mark II off to Canon's repair center in Irving, Ca. They signed for it last Friday 14th May. I was having focusing issues. I also sent a lens with it for them to test it out. Everyday I have checked the online repair checker & I've heard nothing, absolutely nothing. All it says online under shipping - not yet shipped. I don't have another spare camera so I'm going bonkers without. I read a lot of good reviews about this repair center, about the quick turnaround. I know they have 10 business days to fix & ship back but shouldn't something have been entered on my work order by now stating at least that they have received it? Anyone know the procedure for sending in a camera & how long they take before they acknowledge that they have it?

Everything will be fine. They most likely have other projects in front of yours, so they will be getting to in very soon.

Why not just give them a call and ask about the status? That should put your mind to rest.

Your shipping [tracking] should show that they have it.

It wouldn't hurt to give them a call. Sometimes that will nudge things along.

The Irvine repair center does not update its website database to reflect the current status of a repair. A few years ago I sent them a lens for repair. Their website was still showing "waiting for repair" when the lens came back, already repaired.

Same in their NJ repair center.

Update: 5th business day today & nothing heard from Canon. Called only number I can find. Girl I spoke with couldn't even find my camera, had to ask me for my tracking # which really didn't make me feel very good, left me on hold for a few minutes & came back saying that I would get an email shortly. I thanked her & hung up...no email. Called again - same routine with another person, couldn't find my camera, asked me for my tracking # & then told me that unfortunately they couldn't call the repair center (she's in Virginia), I wouldn't let her go - told her I wanted to speak with a supervisor...few minutes later got a very nice lady who said she would either call them or send an email to find out what the status is on my camera. So now the waiting game. I am very upset with this whole ordeal. Why have a tracking system if they are not going to use it!
Anyone have the actual number for the repair center in CA? Only number I could find 949-753-4200 took me to Virgina!

It usually takes 5-7 days for your repair to get in the system and for you to get your email. This is the longest part. By the time you get email it's usually repaired and shipped within 3 days from there.
