Has anyone tried the new 6.2 version of DxO? They claim to have "better integration with Lightroom" due to support for XMP sidecar files. I downloaded the 6.2 demo from DxO's website, but couldn't seem to find any option to import XMP files (you could import sidecar files, but only those generated by DxO). Also, I wasn't able to find a way to export DxO's changes to an XMP file.

Unfortunately, DxO's documentation on this issue is essentially non-existent (at least from what I can find). Has anyone else fooled around with this? The idea here is that you can use LR for your main edits, and DxO for automatic distortion and lens sharpness corrections.

I don't have LR so can't help you with that specific issue, but I've noticed [annoying in my book] that finished, processed Jpegs are created with an XMP sidecar attached, so if you view them in Bridge [presumably the same would occur in LR] they appear to have a further process applied. This suggests to me that DXO will do what you want if you simply correct the lens distortions but no colour/tone changes and then process the image.

I'm not sure what you mean here exactly - a finished, processed JPEG should have all corrections already applied by DxO. What information would the sidecar file contain? You seem to indicate that a "further process" would be applied to the JPEGs, though I could be interpreting what you said incorrectly. I tried this, albeit very briefly, and couldn't see any XMP files generated by DxO when processing JPEGs.

I also looked around in the DxO settings menus, and there was a mention of XMP sidecars. It had a checkbox that said "preserve metadata in XMP sidecars" - this indicates to me that only metadata will be preserved, not any corrections. This is too bad - it looks like we still can't pass mosaiced RAW images between DxO and LR for processing.
