I posted this before, but was not happy with the results. I decided to take a different approach at processing the image. I exported the image to photoshop and converted it to a black and white image. I then set the black point and adjusted the levels of the converted black and white image. I then used an action created by Noel Carboni called BW to H-Alpha with Black Space. I then used a custom preset and filter that I created in Neatimage geared at a very very mild luminance noise reduction with absolutely no color reduction.

I am very happy with the results. I can now say that in the two years I have been taking astro photos that this is by far the best image I have ever taken. This was created from (6) 16 minute iso 200 exposures shot at f3.5 with an unmodified canon 50D and 85mm lens piggybacked on a Stellarvue 80mm f7 NG refractor.

Thanks for looking and hope you like it.

A link to Noel Carboni's actions. I have purchased 3 sets of actions from Noel and am very happy with them.

Yes, we can see the red now. I did some research, seeing your previous shot and found a lot about why the red colour is so prominent. I must also add that the shot looks very good and 10-to-1 it looks better on your screen with the loss that JPG and downsizing add into the show.

Maybe in a year or two I can also post something that looks this good.
