Nice effort - I have to say that I'd put up a warning about the gun content though - especially the title - Gun Fun.

I know that guns are a lot more commonplace in your part of the world than they are in mine but this is an international forum and whilst I'm not particularly concerned others may be.

That said, technically how did you find the 5DMk2 as a video camera. Was the audio that bad that you had to completely overwrite it with music?

That's unbelievably good for your first one. Mine still aren't near that quality:o

Don't worry about the title, it's fine....nice holosight BTW.

Thank you for your concern about the gun thing. My part of the world is Puerto Rico and the law is the same as of United States since we are part of it. We were shooting in a gun range and we took all the necessary precautions for this video. The owner of the rifle and guns is a license person so we were doing things the right way 100%.

About the 5DMKII, well it's very easy and user friendly. The audio came out good but this was just to test the video quality. That's way I covered everything with music. Thanks for watching.

Yeah man, I saw that you were Puerto Rico - myself I'm in the UK and we don't have a gun culture here at all.

I wasn't trying to be antagonistic at all and I'm sorry if it came out that way.

Put simply, we are not allowed to have guns legally - the odd shotgun maybe, but handguns and rifles are major league illegal.

You used to be able to get firearms licenses but they were all withdrawn several years ago and anyone who had licensed weapons had to surrender them for destruction. The compensation paid was nowhere near the value of the weapons.

Is it frowned upon in the UK to even look at guns?

Its funny how different perspectives can be. The idea of not being allowed to own a gun seems so odd to me. I was taught to view it as the benchmark of freedom.

In any case, that was a pretty good video effort, a great on considering it was your first. Did you have any pitfalls regarding rendering with Premier you might want to share? Did you use anything to stabilize the camera, what about a viewfinder?

Thanks

Guns is one area of culture that the UK and USA differ greatly.

There are many people (not me incidentally) that do frown upon anything to do with guns, especially anything that glorifies them or makes them out as being something fun. The idea of having "gun fun" would be abhorant to them and they would end up citing the few bad gun incidents that we have suffered as well as the likes of the Columbine High School massacre in the states to justify their position.

I know that the right to bear arms is central to the US Constitution but you should also realise that the vast majority of Police here in the UK are unarmed. It is only specialist Armed Response (and anti-terror teams at Airports) teams that routinely cary guns and even they must carry them in a locked safe in the boot (trunk) of the car.

Are we safer because we don't have guns? I don't know for sure but I suspect that we are - our murder rate is lots lower than that in the USA.

I would love to debate that issue with you but I dont want to hijack this thread.

I'll just end it with this, as an American I have always looked at Brits as our brothers and sisters.....probably our only true ally. I wished you had the same freedoms.

Yeah, thread hijack over - personally though, whilst I don't have a personal issue with guns I wouldn't want to have one ... in my eyes, it would be potentially more trouble than it's worth.

I'm 42 yrs old and have never had the need to shoot anyone yet :) nor has anyone pointed one at me.

I was in Miami once though looking for something in my rental car and a nice lady came over to me and said "son, you should know, them boys over there be looking at you and they have guns" at which point I got in the car and hit 60 pretty damn quick.

Hello Lofty,
Thanks for watching... Didn't had any problem in rendering with Premiere. I used the camera in hand all the time. I have a nice pulse for that... :). Didn't see through the viewfinder.. I used the live view mode.
