I'm ordering a battery grip and i am looking at ordering some back up batteries as well. I'm looking at sterlingtek batteries but is it okay to put a sterlingtek (1500 mAh) and a canon battery in the grip together?

Thanks

I use 1800mAh generic batteries mixed with the Canon batteries in my T1i. No issues.

I mixed Sterlingtek with Canon batteries for years in a BG-E2 with no issues at all. Sterlingteks lasted longer... :p

nice. i know sterlingtek has an awesome reputation. but i didn't want to mess anything up mixing the 1080 mAh canon with a 1500 mAh sterlingtek

They should be fine, been doing that for about 5 years now with no issues.
Those mAh ratings are overinflated to sell batteries. They should have the same mAH as the Canon one regardless of what they claim. Higher mAH usually entails longer duration not a higher charge IIRC.

I like diamondback batteries b/c they state the actual mAH on their battery. I think their supplier is the same as Sterlingteks and shipping is about $1 cheaper from last time I ordered.

I've been doing this for a number of years with various bodies and batteries.

Never a problem..
