Summer arrived in England today !
OK confession time, I love that couple of weeks as spring turns into summer. The light is different the greens as so fresh and bright and everything looks bright and new. This morning I took my dog for a walk along the canal that runs just behind my house and literally on a whim and at the last moment I decided to take a camera.
I have walked along this towpath hundreds of times but this is the first time I have done so with a camera in my bag. I honestly think I see things in a different way when I am looking to take pictures, I think I will carry one more often.
So this is The Coventry Canal, a short (about 35 Km) narrow canal that comes off The Grand Union Canal. This is literally behind my house. It's amazing to think that these canals were built to facilitate the industrial revolution that led to the squaller and filth in our cities and yet their legacy is these verdant corridors crossing the country.
