Taking that first step...

I had set up for some IR beach shots when this family came by. Their daughter stood transfixed by the waves for a good minute or so:

nice shot. dont take offense to this, but its actually almost creepy....like out of a scary movie or something ya know?

Well I wound up with something maybe disturbing and went with something maybe disturbing. I got the contact details of her family and showed them the photos on the spot and later, online. They seem pretty okay with the series so far.

Creepy (and not in the bad sense)/disturbing/thou​ght-provoking seems to be the general response so far. I took your comment as a plain, honest one.
