I had set up for some IR beach shots when this family came by. Their daughter stood transfixed by the waves for a good minute or so:

Well I wound up with something maybe disturbing and went with something maybe disturbing. I got the contact details of her family and showed them the photos on the spot and later, online. They seem pretty okay with the series so far.
