I don't know about him being in the FBI but all US programmes of that time were very jingoistic and anti Soviet. Here's another blast from the past do you remember The Land of the Giants? The sfx in it were really laughable by today's standards.

Absolutely, I was wracking my brains for that one.....oh and not to forget "Lost in Space" ~ not sure but I think Ray Harryhausen (sp?) cut his teeth on the likes of that Land of the Giants and he went on to produce some classic models & SFX???

And what with Robby's (re)appearence in that movie based on Shakesperes Tempest....now what was that called???

I am sure we could also share some Gerry & Sylvia Anderson classics as well  Who can forget the unrequited love between Troy & Marina :D

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Yes it was the Forbidden Planet, I'm a sucker for Gerry Anderson's stuff, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 and his live action stuff UFO and Space 1999 though that did loose the plot slightly toward the end. And who can forget Terry Nation's best show after Doctor Who Blake's 7 a classic if ever there was one.

Slaps head ~ thats the one. IMO it was actually quite a well directed & executed movie. Though I do not like remakes this one AFAIK has never been remade???

Oh, evening and how is life over on the HOGs thread ;)

Now probably really showing my age but there was a forgotten one that predates XL5.......but my sad old(er) grey matter cannot drag out the name....certainly had space in the title ~ sure it had a space station in it???

As for Blakes 7 yet another shakey scenery one  and cut short with a stupid budget cut ending IMO......why the heck did they do that, it was said to be popular at the time with a growing cult following?

There was one before Fireball XL5 not sure what it was hence why I did not mention it I think it was called something like Supercar.

Don't start me off on the 60's TV - days when TV was actually worth watching (Don't watch it these days, even tho' I have a 37" widescreen HD thing - just so HID can watch the soaps).
Fireball XL5 - terrific at the time, as was Stingray.
Particularly liked "The secret service" with Stanley Unwin - now there is the quintessential English eccentric for you - deep joy & rapture!!

Right, back over the border to 'ampshire before the revenue men discover me 'ere (didn't bring my passport isn't it).
