My pricing plan was £50 for studio and £60 for location within 15miles then add on say 25p per mile after that. It's how most businesses pay per mile though I think the standard there is 40p per mile but unless your car gives 3MPG 40p per mile is mad. 25 could be seen as steep but it makes it an easy number to work with.

Ah cool.. Cheers for the tips!

The shots from the meet look great mate. I still can't believe how small the NEX-5 is.. And how good the pics are!!

Well, I am glad you enjoy it. Have a feeling you have used it more than I have in a day vs me in a week!

Yeah, still stoked at how the NEX-5 is handling. Getting over the smaller niggly bits as I get there.

Did you have a proper studio with rental costs etc, or were you working from home?

Haven't started yet TBH but working from home in converted garage space. cost is still there on equipment and time regardless of where I shoot mind. I'd love to rent a decent studio space mind.

It'd be awesome to have a decent space to shoot in right enough! :D

TBH if I lost my day job I'd probably take a gamble on trying it, but with a day job a rented studio is just wasted space.

Matt,

Your first line still troubles me because as a salesman it just does not sell you & the products you are selling??? Yes, you are trying to say HQ can equate to lower prices than expected to that level of HQ ~ but family photography surely is selling a perception/dream/aspiration/captured moment in time....?

Here at Matt Peters Photography we aim to deliver the highest quality photography while still retaining value for money!

Can I suggest:-
At Matt Peters Photography our aim is to provide the best value photography service delivering photographic memories of the highest quality that you will treasure for many years to come.

This does not follow the rule "you", "we", "I" but in a single strapline that is hard but I have underlined the key 'trap' words that should subconsciously attract. NB the underlining is only to emphasis my rewording ~ not to be left like that in any final copy

Also can I clarify will you always 'speak' in the third person as in if you do not do the shoot who will you appoint. A nitpick for sure but MPP is just you and IMO you should be proud of the fact and yes punch above your weight but to give the impression you are a team just possibly could be seen as misleading???

You have shown the quality you can provide which the other guys who do more of that sort of togging have complimented you on/about so do not sell yourself short :D

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Have you seen those electric fly swatters? I saw this and it reminded me of the swatter i saw round a friends today. I know i probably shouldn't enjoy blowing fly's to kingdom come, but it was fun...
