How many exposures do you need at that time of day to capture the whole light range?

11 seems crazy?

did mine last week, seems to have gone ok, in fact I have noticed a speed improvement, although I also upgraded to PHP 5

I can post the original images but even at +5 EV some of the darker areas around the fountain have detail brought out that are still heavily shadowed in +2 EV

Interesting, so to do 11 exposures, you have done

-5 -4 -3 -2 -1 0 +1 +2 +3 +4 +5

It's the granularity I'm questioning?

Not have got the same details?

as you might tell I've never played with HDR in any anger so might be being very stupid.

Or are you just experimenting with taking things to the extreme (not like you, I know lol)
