i need to do some HDR...and time lapse, two things i haven't done yet. What about bracketed white balance? Is that worth doing?

Yup, the same kit. Pretty much sitting in my garage now. Not used it in a long time. 1.6x crop body again so I need to rethink my rig situation BUT im going to use the money to source one of these.

Its the equiv of a dolly.

At first, I was thinking of a camera steady but not really planning to do much walking around while recording video so after seeing that Haiti video, wanted the dolly style effect

Well they do recommend to increase the FL to make it look more straight as mine looks wonky but it is really impressive when you do it. Within seconds, its done.

Only downside, JPEG photo only. No RAW ability to save.

I don't think I'll ever look at my other lenses the same way again. This 70-200 is scary sharp! :shock:

Never tried but a TC would of course help your reach. Can you goto the event location before hand and give it a go? I always try and scope the location pre-shoot so less to think about on the day.
