Cracking captures & methinks you were well placed down the flightline for such nice angles :D Were you actually at the fence itself and are these crops or full frames???

Thank you Laurence, you're advice paid off mate :)
We were 6ft from the runway barrier/fencing about 100m past the Vulcan display (towards the funfair/shopping stands area).
The majority of what I posted is pretty much full frame, give or take a tiny trimming. A few on my flickr are crops and the difference is instantly obvious, my Spartan is cropped a fair way in.

Lee's 100-400 was superb, absolutely superb. I was toying with the idea of selling my 200L to go towards a used version.

Aww gosh :o ;) Glad it worked for you.

Yes, the 100-400 is the workhorse for airshows ~ I have hired one a few times and for sure on my wishlist though I am sorely tempted by the Sigma 150-500 OS mainly for the added reach??? Hmmmmm! and what about the OS version of the Bigma i.e. 50-500 OS

FIA location ~ I thought about moving down the line but sods law said move and be damned  Interestingly I saw one guy with a two step stepladder and he was about 15ft back from the fenceline with space around him but being 2 odd feet higher I surmise meant he had an unobstructed view........food for thought perhaps???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Great shots today guys and gals well done all.
I've learnt a valuable lesson today, I'm not as young as I used to be and next time someone suggests entering a mini triathlon, 500m swim, 3 mile run and 5 mile bike ride, for charity some training may be in order my fitness is not what it used to be it took me twice as long to to the run as it would of last time I did it. I either need to get back out pounding to streets or grow old disgracefully.

Victor,

Not your usual UrbEx  very nice location and imagery. #2 is the best IMO as it is timeless and would make a great card/wallhanger ~ any more from that neck of the woods???

PS I noted elsewhere that you had used HDEW for some lenses? They are relatively local and the price of one or two are equal to Kerso but no carriage if calling :) But have you ever had need to get a refund or swap a lens for any reason such as poor calibration??? i.e. back or front focusing!

Evening folks - I trust everyone is well, I am very jealous of the awesome plane shots all! (and the Mrs. did a sterling job too Steve!)

finally shook off the remnants of a MASSIVE hangover to do some pic tinkering, Richmond failed to offer up any Stag Beetles! but there were plenty of other bugs and creepy crawlies...

here's some of my personal faves...
...

I'll refrain from posting the spider shots in case a certain someone gets scared! :D

Gorgeous mate, and thanks for not posting spideys :) Mike would've put them full screen close up I bet ;)

Lovely, what a gorgeous part of the world.

I think I might have a couple to post tomorrow as I had a quick hour's walk around the city yesterday morning after work, first time in ages!

Finally, a fabulous array of flight images from everyone else today, great stuff!

This is from the inside of Druids taken from a public access area only had the 300 which was not ideal for this location as these are not cropped, fortunately the bikes are moving quite slowly at this point.

Bit annoyed with myself with this one, forgot to change the focus to AI from one shot focus so did not get as good a shot as I should have which was annoying as this is the championship leader and he won all three races over the weekend

Hi Adrian

Yes, was a good day though damned kna****ing. Met up with Matt (courior) and his pal Ollie.

When you say version II do you mean "B" ??? I have checked others images of that plane and the "A" is a closer match for the colours so I will get round to re-reviewing my PP on any I post just to be carefull I do not introduce 'strange' colours. As for what look more pleasing well that will always be another matter

Airshows wise ~ what about Shoreham, would love to get there one year/this year???

What a stonking set of images ~ this one I really like but a pity about the tight crop across the top?

After your last bit of feedback about access it would seem there is at least one place for open views but I surmise it can get crowded???

With a little bit of tweaking in PS you could pass this off as a Constable.

Lots of nice shots in the past few days - too many to comment on all of them.

Lee - was it the cheepo version of the Rode video mic you bought - if so it is the same one as I got - what do you think? I think audio gain control on the Canon would be nice. Perhaps the 7D MkII - Eh?
