Hi! This is my first post on the forum and I really hope I did this re-size thing correctly!

This shot was captured purely by accident. I was actually watching a heron in the distance when this fight over territory took place. Things happened so quickly between these geese that I didn't have time to make any adjustments with my camera as they flew towards me, thus the out of frame/focus image.

I don't have a post processing software but would like to know if it would be possible to salvage this image if I had a software package in place.

I'd appreciate any advice you have to offer.

Thank you. :)

**Edit: Water mark added using Photobucket's photo hosting site.

Salvage. Here's what you do. Get it printed professionally, frame it, and enjoy it on your wall. It's a great photo! My guess is that the one being chased got a bit too close to Mama and eggs/chicks, and Papa became unhappy in a big way.

Perhaps I should take your advise and not be so critical of this image. Thank you for your very kind comments. :)

You're welcome, but look at the image. The defender is clearly very angry and you can see that in his face which is very much in focus. You got the places where he was hitting the water with his wings as he was flying to defend his territory. It's an impressive trail. In fact, you can see motion everywhere, and yet his face is frozen in a berserker's rage. The intruder is clearly intent on escape.

As a photographer, you stayed put to take the photo, whether a wise idea or not. ;) I've seen Canadian geese do this, and I'm not sure I'd want to see a pair such as this coming directly toward me. The one important part that should have been in focus was in fact in focus, the defender's face. Add to this the composition, and I'd consider this to be an extraordinary photo.

Great shot. Nothing much to change. Maybe lighten it up a bit, but it's a great story teller as it is. :)
