Wow, you got the whole hanger in one shot? Are you working on the old base? I've tried to find ways in to get some shots of the hangers as well, but have only come across locked gates. Although I must admit, I haven't tried very hard.

Can I take your picture? "I'll swallow your soul!" Well, my camera will at least.

Hey! Home sweet home! Well, not the base, but the area around it - spent most of my life in the immediate vicinity of the Tustin MCAS. I still remember as a little kid the constant helicopter activity (which I loved of course) before they shut the base down.

Tried clicking your Zenfolio link and it wasnt a real address... copied and pasted the link text and that worked (just so you know)

I really like the b/w shots you posted... the one above looks a touch underexposed

Cal...I too wish I could have gotten in. Sometimes they open them up to the public, but it's been awhile since they have. I used a step stool and stood on my tip toes to get above the fence to get these shots :-)

Andrrushka, thanks for the comments! I can see them from my patio, and drive past them at least a couple times a week. I'm always amazed by them!

Thanks for the tip on my link, I fixed it in the original post.

Blast from the past! I grew up around this area too, and remember all the air traffic from this base when I was a kid. I think they rent out the place for filming now, I've seen car commercials and movies with these hangars in them. Thanks for sharing, I haven't thought about these in a while.
