I Love shooting with my 20D and riding my VFR750F so I was faced with the dilemma of how to transport my camera gear on my bike. To this end I put together a lens combination that meets my photography needs and a selection of Tamrac M.A.S. pieces to carry them. The whole kit fits in the tank bag on my bike. The bag has a rubber sheet beneath it that helps isolate the kit from the tank. I also put a sheet of bubble wrap in the bottom of the bag to assist in the dampening.
The basis for my kit is the Tamrac M.A.S. belt. http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ghType=categoryNavigation
Although you can just use a regular leather belt the Tamrac belt is padded and much more comfortable.
Next is the Tamrac 5315 Travel Zoom Travel Holster http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ghType=categoryNavigation
It will hold either my EF-S 17-85 IS USM or my EF 70-300 DO IS with the hood reversed. There are three pockets on the holster that have ample room for CF cards, spare batteries, cell pnone, cleaning supplies, even the compact charger.
Next is the Tamrac MX5378 large lens case http://www.bhphotovideo.com …ghType=categoryNavigation
It will hold either lens with the hood reversed.
Last but not least is the Tamrac MX5384 medium accessory pocket which holds my 420EX Speedlite with Stofen Omni Bounce. There is also room at the bottom for an extra set of AA batteries.
As you can see in the photo I have also put a Schrade multi-tool and a pair of compact binoculars on the belt. There is still plenty of room on the belt if I ever (heaven forbid) decide to add more lenses. As you can tell my thrifty-fifty does not go street dancing with me.
I find this system to be quite handy when I am out and about. When I am actively photographing I keep my camera out of the holster and my POTN strap around my neck
