I have a question, if I was to get a YN560 flash and wanted to use it with my 430ex ii. Could my 430 be used to trigger the 560. I was thinking of getting the 430ex off the camera with a hotshoe extension cable and then use the 560 as an optical slave for a fill flash. If that would work could I also add more then one optical slave YN flash?

I'm totally new to this, I just got my 430ex ii a couple of days ago now I would like to get a couple of cheap flashes to use with it.

Yup, it should work. If you're using the 430ex in ettl mode, you'd need to use S2 mode on yn560. If you're using 430ex manual mode, S1 on yn560 would work.

You can get a Squaretrade warranty for anything bought from a retailer online or Ebay. It works really well. I had a Squaretrade warranty for a laptop I bought on Ebay 2 years ago. It jus quit working 6 months ago and they are sending me a check for what I paid for it. You can't beat that!

i have the one with the metal foot and have gone well over 500 shots with it! keeping my fingers crossed it lasts a looooooooooooong while.

I am looking to buy one of these but should I reconsider? I am using the 60D but it seems there are reports that the wireless trigger from the 60D will not trigger the YN560. Is this for ETTL only or is this a concern?

Should i just buy the RF-602 to go with it and forget about it?

Just buy some wireless triggers. Eitehr RF-602 or Cactus V5. I've got the latter and they work awesome!!!

My YN560 took a mud dive yesterday from about 10 feet high...

Another success story:

Yesterday I had my 560 slide out of the cold shoe of my light stand while I was carrying it. I didnt tighten it enough, fell about 7 feet onto a carpeted concrete floor. The flash head got turned 180 around, battery door opened and the batteries fell out. Put them back in, turned it on and checked all the functions and nothing was broken! because of the way it fell, the hotshoe got bent a tiny bit, but not enough to disrupt function

Have there been any problems with the new versions of the 560? My 468 works flawlessly, but my 460ii took a dive shortly after buying it.
