Canon 7D Dust in Viewfinder

I haven't seen anyone else complain about dust on the 7D.

I have 4 dust particles that I see in the viewfinder, but it's not on the lens/sensor and not affecting the image. I assume, that I can send it in and get that fixed for free, as it's less than a year old.

Are there any other ways to get the dust out? It doesnt' appear to be on the viewfinder, but rather inside (cotton swab isn't removing it).

Have you tried blowing on the focus screen? I had a speck before and a quick puff solved the issue.

For a second, in my sleep lacking state I had an image of tiny 7Ds sticking to someone's focus screen.

Yeah, I tried blowing and swabbing the focus screen and the dust particles don't move.

If your brave, you can try and remove the focusing screen and while it's out of the mirror box you can use the blower on both sides.

Here is the process

If the dust is still visible then it's a trip to Canon.

Well I am sure a local repair store can clean that for you. Find one that's trusted.

Got used to ignoring a couple specks on my 7D. If it doesn't affect IQ, then no reason to fret too much. A DIY job might make things worse.
