I used to have alot more gear and switch between LowePro Slingshots, and Crumpler 5mdh and 7mdh depending on my needs for the day.

I have since decided to move away from sling bags in general as I find that a single strap bothers my sholders. Also, now that I commute to my IT job in the city, I would like a Camera/laptop bag that i can take to work and still fit my lunch in if needed.

I am considering the FastPack series (i like the quick access the similar to the slingshots and a sling bag) but give me a little more storage space and the confort of a backpack.

I'd like to fit in the lower section (all with hoods reversed)

5dmk2
24-70L
100L (macro)
70-200 2.8L IS
580exII

Does anyone know if this would fit in a 250? or would i have to step up to the 350?

Would there be enough room to fit the 70-200 mounted, and switch to the 24-70 (mounted) while keeping the 70-200 somewhere else in the bag if needed?

I would like to avoide using the upper compartment for anything camera related as I may keep food/work supplies in there. I also intend to keep a small laptop in the notebook pocket.

Any help would be greatly apreciated, thank you.

i have a fastpack 250

there's no way to fit the flash and the 70-2002.8 IS in the lower portion along with the 5dmk2 (24-70 attached i assume) and the 100L

I can fit a 450D + grip + attached tamron 17-50, canon 85 1.8, tokina 11-16, canon 55-250 and miscellaneous triggers/omnibounce in the bottom portion. the flash goes in the upper cubby

Or you can have the flash fit in the bottom portion minus the canon 85 or tokina 11-16

I had a sigma 70-200 2.8 at one point and that BARELY fit into the bottom portion, leaving only enough room for body + lens, and one more small lens

Canon 6D - Canon 24-105 f4L, Canon 70-200 f4L IS f4, Canon 50 f1.8, 580ex II - Cactus v4s - Fastpack 250, Gitzo & Markins Q3T

Thanks for the reply...

Can anyone comment on if the Fastpack 350 would fit?

If not, can anyone reccomend a similar product (again Id like to stay away from single strap bags as they have started to bother my shoulder)

I had similar needs at one point and decided it was a lot easier on my back and it also felt safer, to pick and carry just 1 lens for commuting to the office. My daily bag is the simple compudaypack which i've tried to replace many times unsuccessfully. good luck in your search. bags are a giant headache until you find the perfect match.

I have the Fastpack 350, and I think that would fit your gear. It fits my 24-105 and 70-200 f/2.8 with no problem, and there is enough room left over for the 100, although the flash may be an issue (I stick a Gorillapod, batteries, charger, etc... in the extra space).

The bag itself is alright, but ugly as sin (as well as being pretty bulky) to the point where I tend to avoid it and use two other bags, my 7MDH for the camera gear and Dreadful Embarassment for my 17" MBP. Not sure how that will work for travelling, so I have to use the Fastpack anyway...

Bought it, tried it returned it :(

It is definitely functional, but it is massive as a bag, yet small in terms of camera equipment capacity (in the lower portion).

The breaking point was that I could not fit all my lenses with hoods in the lower compartment. While the upper compartment provided more than enough additional space, it would have defeated my purpose for having that section set aside for a lunch bag or office materials.

The search continues...

i know what you mean, ive had the 250 for a few months now, it does its job but the just isn't enough space in the lower compartment..
and my top compartment is now full of my accessories. so i really don't have much space for as you said, lunch..
