So looking at getting into some flash photgraphy. i have a canon T1i and was wondering is it worth shelling out the extra money/ are there any advangtes for the 430ex II? or will i not notice much difference with the 430ex?

The 430EXII also has a newer locking device, instead of the older twist style. And the Slave switch is gone and you now change that via, holding the zoom button. Also the mount is metal I heard versus the plastic one in the older model. 5D2, 600 EX-RT, STE-3, 24-70L, 70-200L f/2.8 IS II, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.8
