The Silvereye, (Zosterops lateralis) also known as the Waxeye, is common in New Zealand, and is especially visible in the winter when it loves the late fruit in the orchard, or anything you care to leave for it to eat.
These guys were feasting on our pears...and welcome to the left-overs.

A lovely couple of shots Ricardo, Well done.

Thank you very much for the kind comments.
#1 was taken on 300 f4 IS with 1.4 TX, #2 with the 70-200 f4 IS. These guys aren't hard to find, but they keep on the move constantly so the hit rate wasn't hugely high. Specially on dull days as we've been having. Hopefully there might be some sun before all the pears are eaten up!
Here's one that I liked...I call it "dancing silvereye"....

Beautiful bird and nice picture.Silvereyes frequent a diverse range of habitat types, including wet and dry sclerophyll forest and woodland, rainforest, mallee shrubland, coastal heath, mangroves, farmlands, parks, gardens, orchards and vineyard

Thank you for the comment, and for the extra info. It's easy to forget that little birds like these can cover a vast territory...always good to learn something new.
That's the beauty of wildlife photography, isn't it...we get involved!!!

Such a delicate looking creature and so very well captured in the first shot. The dancing silvereye is fun!

Lovely little bird Ricardo,

And a very nice shot of him with great detail and light. Interesting birding notes in this thread too.
