Pano head dilemma

Just came back from Europe and I use Manfrotto 303 Plus Panoramic head, but that unit is simply too heavy and cumbersome. I bought that head simply because I use either my 5D or 40D with 24-105mm lens that might be too heavy for smaller pano heads. After this experience, I plan to do my pano shots using perhaps a Canon G 11 or equivalent and and a smaller, much smaller head. Any suggestion what might be a good, light weight, compact, reasonably priced pano head?
