My GF's 50D has an Err30. Is there a Canon service center in or near the Seattle area? I tried looking online but could not find one.
Thanks!

Hmmm well like I know we have a Canon center here in Hawaii, but I don't think they actually do repairs there. Is there any place like that in Seattle? Snydremark wrote in post #10247367 Nope Best get friendly with UPS...we don't have any nearby service centers. You could have Camera Techs out in Ballard take a look, but I suspect they're gonna tell you to send it off to Canon, too.Would that void the warranty? Full Gear List

If I remember Err 30 is a shutter problem so I think Canon service centre would be best in the end.. Terry.

The warranty had expired the previous month, I told the Canon customer service person that and she said to send it anyway. I sent it on a Tuesday afternoon . . . called them on Friday and they confirmed replacing the shutter as well as doing maintenance work (what they do to make sure it's up to Canon's specs) and I got it back the following Monday. Yes, they covered it under warranty even though they didn't have to. I was told that the shutter was a $180 part. Canon covering it under warranty confirms why I chose Canon! 5D MK II, 50D gripped, Elan 7e gripped & A2E gripped, Nifty Fifty, 17-40 L, 24-70 2.8 L, 70-200 2.8 L, 100-400 L IS, 100 2.0, Tamron 70-200 2.8 DI LD, Kenko 1.4/2 TC, Canon 580 IIEX, Canon 430EX, Sunpak PZ 5000AF
